Introduction

AUSPICIOUS BEGINNINGS

In 2000, the Evergreen Group responded to the government's plan to turn Taiwan into an Asia Pacific Regional Operations Center and global logistics hub by setting up Evergreen Air Cargo Services Corp.(EGAC), a BOT project set up in conjunction with other well-known domestic and international enterprises.

EGAC officially started operations on July 3, 2002 and began autonomous management as a customs-controlled warehouse in Nov., 2002.A strategic alliance was signed with the Taipei Customs Office (Ministry of Finance) in Nov. ,2004.

EGAC occupies more than 45,000 square meters and is ideally situated at TTY International Airport, close to the cargo apron. The site is equipped with advanced automatic air cargo handling facilities capable of handling 820,000 tons of cargo annually.

In conjunction with the air, sea and land links provided by the Evergreen Group’s transportation operations, EGAC can offer clients a complete set of air cargo services. With the latest facilities and technology, security systems and handling procedures, EGAC is in a position to offer customers reliable services that maximize efficiency and minimize cargo delay.

EGAC's corporate culture stresses challenge, innovation and teamwork. The company also strictly adheres to the principles of service, safety and efficiency, and ensures professional training and education for all its staff. EGAC’s adoption of the ISO 9001 quality management systems means optimal efficiency for the benefit of clients.

EGAC is committed to protecting the environment. In 2009, it assisted EVA Airways in complying with IATA’s e-freight pilot initiative, significantly reducing paper use by replacing traditional documentation with electronic messaging.

In 2010, EGAC received third-party verification of the accuracy of its greenhouse gas emissions inventory process, which conforms to ISO 14064-1 requirements.

EGAC was awarded "A" certification, the highest security standard, by the Transported Asset Protection Association (TAPA) Asia in 2005. EGAC was also named first runner-up in the Forklife Competition at the 2009 International Forklife and Pallet Building Competition organized by Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited.
